Travel credit cards are not just about incentives; they also come with a variety of perks and benefits that can transform your next vacation from rudimentary to luxurious at no additional cost.
To help you find the best travel card for your needs, we talked to GreenSprout, a company that aims to help people make the best financial decisions on their favourite travel credit cards for 2022. Some of them are:
American Express Gold Card
The American Express® Gold Card, according to GreenSprout, is a sensible pick for those who love to travel and dine out. The card has a $250 annual charge, but it has several perks to compensate for it.
For frequent travelers, the annual statement credits are a welcome benefit. When you book a room through American Express Travel’s The Hotel Collection, you’ll get $100 in hotel credits and $120 in eating credits to order at places like Grubhub, Seamless, and partner restaurants.
Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
This card is great if you’re planning a lot of travel during the fall. Members of Capital One Travel earn 5X mileage on lodging and rental car bookings and limitless 2X points on each and every dollar spent through the Capital One Travel portal.
You can either use a statement credit or book your travel through Capital One’s Reward Center in order to redeem your points for travel purchases. You also have the option of exchanging your points for cash in the form of a check; however, if you choose to do so, each point will only be worth half a cent.
Chase Sapphire Reserved® Card
Many people consider the Chase Sapphire Reserve® to be the greatest credit card for earning points toward travel, and with good reason. Chase Ultimate Rewards® points are valued at around 1.5 cents apiece for Chase cardholders and are extremely flexible, so the annual fee is well worth it if you travel frequently.
Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card
The Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card is one of the best airline rewards credit cards available. On top of the generous welcome offer, you’ll get 2X Miles on Delta purchases at restaurants worldwide, plus takeout and delivery in restaurants and supermarkets in the US.
You can also earn 1X Mile on all other eligible purchases. New card members will also pay a $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $99.
Hilton Honors Aspire Card from American Express
It is extremely unlikely that you will come across another hotel credit card that provides you with as extensive a list of benefits as the Hilton Honors Aspire Card from American Express, says GreenSprout. You will receive $600 in yearly statement credits in exchange for a somewhat high annual fee and a complimentary Priority PassTM Select membership valued at nearly $400. (enrollment required).
This only credit card automatically provides top-tier status to any hotel loyalty program. You will also receive Diamond status with the Hilton Honors rewards program when you use this card (enrollment required).
