Locations You MUST Visit for Photo Shoots in Atlanta

With the pandemic mostly behind us and the daily beautiful weather on the horizon, it’s time to get back out there and enjoy the local scenery that Atlanta has to offer!  There are some dazzling areas for outdoor photo locations and I wanted to revisit a list of some of my favorites that need to be checked out by any budding photographer.

Bessie Branham Park – Family & Action Shots

Perfect for the family shots and action photos of the kids playing baseball or climbing on the playground, Bessie Branham is located along Kirkwood Road NE and Delano Drive NE.  There are see-saws, a tire swing, monkey bars, slides, rock climbing walls, swings, bridges, and more so give your younger clients some time to thoroughly enjoy the place!

Brownwood Park – Family Photography

A nice alternative to Bessie park.  Located along Brownwood Avenue SE and Emerson Street SE, it feels as though Brownwood Park was built with family photography in mind!  Nearly 13 acres of well-maintained land allows for great picnic shots and the paths are groomed for bikers and skaters.

Piedmont Park – Water Views

One of Atlanta’s top destinations for weddings and concerts, Piedmont Park is located in midtown, along Piedmont Avenue and 10th Street.   There is a dock at Lake Clara Meer for the family and friends to jump off and you’ll struggle to find a better park in the Atlanta limits to make you feel like you’re part of nature.

Krog Street Tunnel and Murals – Artistic and Fun

For a stark difference from the other three locations, I need to mention the Krog Street NE tunnels.  Goodness, if you’re looking for something a bit edgy and creative, perhaps something a little less formal… this is the place!  Skateboarding shots, parkour stills, and just artwork admiration works abound.  It’s ever changing, so it’s worth visiting more than once.

Four of Many

There are other outdoor spaces that are perfect for socially distanced photo shoots.  If you’re interested in trying to find a new location that will work for you and your occasion, Dani Weiss Photography is more than willing to share some ideas and locations.  Everything can be done from a distance if it’s preferred and if you’re working with children, there are dozens of kid-friendly places to help keep them focused and comfortable to increase the chances of getting a great photo.
